BIOGRAPHY
We are a Rock and Roll band that started and was made famous in the mid 1960’s. We are known best for our ever-famous hit “Time Has Come Today.” That song has been played in multiple movies and video games.
We got our start as musicians in our church choir in our home town of Mississippi. Shortly after we all moved to Los Angeles to perform as a gospel and folk group around LA in 1954. We started playing in coffeehouses such as The Ash Grove and other various places. During this time we met Barbara Dane who performed, toured and recorded many times with us. We got the opportunity to go to New York in 1965 and make an appearance which launched our careers.
We performed in 1965 in the Newport Folk Festival. Our song “I Got It” appeared on the Newport Folk Festival 1965 compilation. After the festival, we played at a concert where we met Bob Dylan and recorded a session with him.
After this, our debut album “People Get Ready” was recorded. Shortly after, we were signed with Columbia Records. While with Columbia we recorded our hit “Time Has Come Today.” The song spent five weeks at number eleven on the Billboards Top 100 list.
Currently, we are rehearsing for upcoming shows and the recording of our new album, which is to be released later in 2012. We are super excited to be back in the studio rehearsing and playing again. We look forward to seeing all of our loyal fans at our concerts across the US.
